About Us

Competitive pricingB. David’s Custom Framing was established in 1974 just one block east of our present location at 1801 K Street NW. We’re a small shop—and proud of it—so when you call on us, rather than having to deal with an inexperienced part-timer as you might at a do-it-yourself place five times our size, you’ll be waited on by the owner/operator, “B David” Goldman.

Or by our principal framer Alan Lauer, who has 26 years at BD’s!

And when you leave your items for framing with us, you’ll know exactly where they’ll remain until finished and collected. Because rather than sending our work out, we do nearly all of it on the premises.

The size of our shop, however, in no way prevents us from turning out contract framing by the score--or even by the hundreds. In instances of very large quantities and tight deadlines, we sometimes enlist the aid of expert associates in their larger studio spaces. In such cases we will, of course, first notify you where your items will be worked on and stored.

How long does framing take at B. David’s?
Well, we certainly don’t advertise as “next day framers!” It’s best, we think, not to rush quality work.

Sometimes, however, that can’t be helped. So if you absolutely need it not tomorrow but TODAY, close of business, we’ll see—since we aim to please—if we can fit it into our schedule!

Usually, we prefer about 7-10 business days—longer if necessary (custom finished frames, etc.), shorter if possible.

How much does it cost?
